St. David's Welcomes Twelve Newcomers

St. David's has much to be thankful for at this time of year.  One of those things is a group of wonderful new friends.  At our recent Welcome Sunday service we welcomed twelve new friends to the St. David's family.  It certainly was a day to celebrate as each of our new comers told a little about what brought them to St. David's.

Advent 2013 is here! It’s the season of waiting and anticipation…taking time to prepare once again for the Birth of Christ in our hearts.

“What would Christmas be like without Advent, without the preparation in our spiritual lives for what is actually a deeply spiritual holiday?” said Fr. Chris Yaw, rector of St. David’s Parish. “We use this time to pull away from the shopping and cooking to re-center ourselves on what matters most.”

2013_12 Acolyte Ministry

 The Acolyte Ministries are an important part of the larger Liturgical Ministries. It had its beginning as churches grew and services were expanded and formalized. At first, those serving at the altar were only priests, deacons, and sub deacons. Gradually, this service opened up to young men and boys.
