The Mitten Tree Committee

The Mitten Tree Committee wishes to thank the parish for their generous contributions again this year. Five 30 gallon trash bags of gifts were delivered to the Salvation Army in Royal Oak for their Christmas Shop.

Thank you, too, to Steve and Jan Ernst for packing up and delivering the gifts.

Your generosity has yielded these results in December:
- 10 bags of groceries taken to Open Hands Pantry (total groceries to Open Hands for 2012: 96 bags, 1152 pounds.)
- five 30 gallon bags of gifts from the Mitten Tree taken to the Salvation Army, Royal Oak Citadel facility.

born December 30th to proud parents Bob and Hillary Snyder.
The baby is 7 pounds, 9 ounces, 21 inches long and arrived 11 days early.

Meeting Our Neighbors

Did you know that the Iraqi Consulate opened up nearly right across the street from St. David's in 2009? Fr. Chris recently shared tea with the Consul General Almanhal Alsafi who has expressed interest in visiting St. David's in 2013. The consulate serves local Iraqis, helping with their social security and real estate transactions.

Security Upgrades

In light of recent security concerns (the Newtown shooting etc) the Vestry is re-coding and re-keying the exterior doors. This will happen March 1.

So if you need a new exterior key and exterior pass code, see the office in February.
